Mr Petr Agha

Petr Agha is is a research fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values. He is also the Deputy Director of the Centre for Law and Public Affairs (CeLAPA) and lecturer at the Law Faculty of the Charles University in Prague.

Mr Tamo Atabongawung

Atabongawung Tamo is a research fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values. He specialises in international law, human rights and development and a post-doctoral fellow at the International Institute of Social Studies – The Hague (Erasmus University Rotterdam).

David Baez Seara

David Baez Seara is a research fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values. His main research interests revolve around the analytics of governance, principal-agent theory, legal reasoning, law and technology and European public law.

Sebastian Baldinger

Sebastian Baldinger is an FWO PhD Research Fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values, a doctoral research student of the collaborative 'Globalisation and Legal Theory' PhD programme at the University of Antwerp, and a doctoral student of Philosophy at the University of Vienna.

Samuele Chilovi

Samuele Chilovi is a doctoral research student of the collaborative 'Globalisation and Legal Theory' PhD programme at the University of Antwerp. He is also member of LOGOS (research group in Analytic Philosophy), and enrolled as a PhD student in the faculty of philosophy (department of Logic, History and Philosophy of Science), at the University of Barcelona.

Professor Koen de Feyter

Koen de Feyter is Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law. He is a member of the research group Law and Development.

Triantafyllos Gkouvas

Triantafyllos Gkouvas is a research fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values. His main research foci lie at the intersection of legal theory and metaethics.

Dr Marco Goldoni

Marco Goldoni is Lecturer in Legal Theory at the School of Law of the University of Glasgow and a research fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values. His main research interests lie in constitutional theory, European constitutional law, race and law.

Dr Alexia Herwig

Alexia Herwig is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values in the area of international economic law. She holds a position as research fellow at the University of Bremen. Her current research focuses on the constitutionalisation of the WTO, global distributive justice and aspects of social policy raised by the liberalisation of services.

Ayse Irem Kirac

Ayse Irem Kirac is a doctoral research student of the collaborative 'Globalisation and Legal Theory' PhD programme at the University of Antwerp. She is working on a PhD project about the democratic deficit of the global law-making process under the supervision of Prof. Alexia Herwig and Prof. George Pavlakos. Her study strives to explain the problem of the lack of democratic legitimacy in global law-making mechanisms and global regulations.

Maria-Artemis Kolliniati

Maria-Artemis Kolliniati is a doctoral research student of the collaborative 'Globalisation and Legal Theory' PhD programme at the University of Antwerp. She is currently working on a PhD project on the conflict among rights and their correlation with collective goods under the supervision of Prof. George Pavlakos.

Sarah Lambrecht

Sarah Lambrecht is a PhD Fellow of the Flanders Research Foundation (FWO) at the University of Antwerp since October 2011. Her research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Patricia Popelier is titled: ‘The dynamics between national and supranational fundamental rights protection: a practice of convergence?’.

 

Richard Latta

Richard Latta is a doctoral research student of the collaborative Globalization and Legal Theory PhD programme at the University of Antwerp. His interests focus on accounts of and accounting for legal normativity from within legal positivism.

Professor George Pavlakos (Director)

George Pavlakos is a Research Professor in Globalisation and Legal Theory at the Faculty of Laws, University of Antwerp; he also holds a part-time personal Chair in the same field at the School of Law, University fo Glasgow, Scotland.

Professor Marta Pertegas

Marta Pertegas is professor of Private International Law at the Faculty of Law. She is a member of the research group Dispute Resolution.

Paula Ploscar

Paula is a researcher at the Faculty of Law, currently focusing on ‘The Meaning of the Principle of Solidarity in European Law’. She studied social sciences (B.A., 2008) at Hitotsubashi University (Japan) and European law (LL.M, 2009) at Maastricht University (The Netherlands).

Professor Patricia Popelier

Patricia Popelier is professor (hoogleraar) at the University of Antwerp. She is a member of the research group for Constitutional and Administrative Law.

Dr Katrien Schaubroeck

Dr. Katrien Schaubroeck is a Junior Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy, Utrecht University. Her research focuses on issues at the intersection of meta-ethics and moral psychology.

Marta Simoncini

Professor Anne-Marie Van den Bossche

Anne-Marie Van den Bossche is professor of European law at the University of Antwerp. Her research interest lie in European Economic Law and European Competition Law and Policy.

 

Professor Wouter Vandenhole

Wouter Vandenhole teaches human rights law and holds the UNICEF Chair in Children’s Rights at the University of Antwerp. He is a member of the research groups Law and Development  and Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law.

Valeria Venditti

Valeria Venditti is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Philosophy at ‘La Sapienza’ Università di Roma. Her research concerns social marginalisation and the role that language and institutions play in the constitution of disadvantaged identities.

Professor Herwig Verschueren

Herwig Verschueren is professor of International and European Social Law at the University of Antwerp and the Free University of Brussels.

Gonzalo Villa Rosas

Gonzalo Villa Rosas is currently completing a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Law at the Christian-Albrechts Universität zu Kiel in Germany under the supervision of Prof. Robert Alexy. His Ph.D. research deals with a procedural theory of legal power and its philosophical foundations.

Werner Wandenbruwaene

Werner Vandenbruwaene is a junior researcher / teaching assistant at the University of Antwerp.
He is a member of the Constitutional and Administrative Law research group.
His interests include constitutional law, (public) law and economics and legal theory.
