January 29, 2016 | A debate between Joseph Raz and AJ Julius, London School of Economics

The Centre for Law and Cosmopolitan Values is pleased to announce a debate between Joseph Raz (Columbia and King's College London) and AJ Julius (UCLA) on 'Reasons, Coordination, and Authority'.

Joseph Raz will comment on some arguments about interpersonal practical rationality and authority that are set out in A J Julius’ forthcoming book Reconstruction (Princeton University Press). Raz and Julius will then trade further thoughts on these topics with members of the audience who will have had the chance to read Julius’ material beforehand.

The event will be hosted by the UK IVR and Jurisprudence: An International Journal of Legal and Political Thought and chaired by Veronica Rodriguez-Blanco (Birmingham).

Time and Venue
January 29th, 6 p.m.
LSE (Law), Moot Court Room, New Academic Building, 7th floor.
The event will be followed by a reception.
